Shingles (Herpes Zoster)

Herpes zoster causes a red blistered rash, which may appear anywhere on your body or sometimes wrap around your torso. Shingles is caused by the virus that causes chicken pox, Varicella-zoster

Therefore you stand to have a higher chance of getting shingles if you have suffered from chicken pox before because the causative virus lies dormant in your system. The elderly and people with impaired immunity are at risk of getting shingles. 

It is treated with antivirals and boosting one’s immunity. some of the common symptoms include pain, numbness, or tingling at the affected part, a red rash that develops after the pain that develops into fluid-filled blisters.
