[VIDEO] Day 3 of our Stay in a Favela – A Rio Story Travel Vlog 6

It was almost time to move on from the vibrant beaches, picturesque hills and quirky favelas surrounding the city of Rio and move onward and outward to explore little less known towns in the state of Rio de Janeiro itself…

… But not before enjoying our last few hours of GoPro fun in the sun and witnessing yet another beautiful sunset over the ocean from above.

12:00 pm: Jump on the back of some moto-taxis and wind our way back up the hill to the favela

12:30 pm: Relax, eat Acai, nap

13:30 pm: Check emails, edit photos, update social media, write, etc..

17:00 pm: Walk across to Morro da Babilônia (Babylon Hill), the next favela community over

17:15 pm: Sweat our way up to the very top of hill (20 minute hike), passing many old shacks and army forts on the way to catch a unique view over Rio de Janeiro

19:00 pm: Sunset and drinks at Bar do Alto, a popular night time spot located among the crooked buildings of Babilônia…

And we caught it all on camera for our A Rio Story vlog series, a number of videos highlighting our best travel experiences in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. You can find out all about about that and more here.

You’re about to watch travel vlog #6, the third and final video about our stay in a favela. Catch up on more action here and here!

In this video you’ll be:

✣ Swimming in the ocean at Praia do Leme (Leme Beach)
✣ Riding on the back of a moto taxi, weaving your way back up the hill and into the favela
✣ Drinking a beer with us at the local bar (Bar do David)
✣ Taking in the amazing views across the city and over to Christo, Sugar Loaf Mountain and Copacabana Beach
✣ And finally, chilling out, kicking back and watching the sunset over the Rio de Janeiro coastline

And if you’re wondering where we rested our heads at night during our visit to the favela, Chapéu do Leme Guesthouse was safe, comfortable and boasted really incredible views across the coast from the rooftop balcony. In fact, the owner, João also spent some time taking us around to different places during our stay which was really helpful and a great way to experience the Leme neighbourhood from an insiders point of view.
